After some careless play in the Mendonca FC defense, Diamantino Vaz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Armindo Assis. The Mendonca FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Armindo Assis should have stopped the shot. After 27 minutes, Duarte Carvalho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mendonca FC and the SC Bigorne players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 27th minute of the game. One of Mendonca FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Bigorne:s goal. The referee gave SC Bigorne a penalty, 29 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Carlos Viegas, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mendonca FC's Armindo Assis. 0-2. 34 minutes into the game, Mendonca FC's Fernando Figueiredo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bernardo Carvalho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. 39 minutes into the match, Mendonca FC's Vítor Mendes sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernardo Carvalho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. SC Bigorne's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
