Amílcar Cruz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Xavier Setúbal in the 4th minute of the match. SC Bucos's Amílcar Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Fonseca in the 10th minute of play. In the 11th minute Mouril FC were awarded a corner. Miguel Freitas went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Mouril FC's Miguel Freitas to fire away a dangerous shot which Amílcar Cruz despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Mouril FC's Augusto Barros played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Miguel Pinheiro in the 13th minute of play. Nuno Fonseca sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 23rd minute, Adolfo Veiga ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Augusto Barros was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Américo Coelho kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Amílcar Cruz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nuno Fonseca in the 33rd minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, Mouril FC's goal looked a bit too open when Américo Coelho came free, but Augusto Barros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Nuno Fonseca cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Amílcar Cruz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Xavier Setúbal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 43 minutes into the match, Xavier Setúbal notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of SC Bucos's Amílcar Cruz. Amílcar Cruz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to SC Bucos getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Miguel Pinheiro hit a great ball. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Nuno Fonseca to make the kick off. Armando Moniz hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. 55 minutes into the match, Mouril FC's Miguel Freitas broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. If Xavier Setúbal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adolfo Veiga received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Augusto Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Adolfo Veiga made a precise shot to the right of Augusto Barros. Mouril FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. In the 66th minute of the match, Xavier Setúbal got a very nice opportunity to score, but Amílcar Cruz was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nuno Fonseca couldn't finish the play. In the 96th minute Américo Coelho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Augusto Barros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Mouril FC players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
