Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Diogo Guarda started the match with the kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alexandre Faria during the 2nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 2nd minute, Alexandre Faria hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Joaquim Pacheco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Jesus having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diogo Guarda in the 6th minute of play forced Cartaxo FC's goalkeeper Fernando Campos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alexandre Farias short, quick shot in the 7thth minute got Fernando Campos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Fernando Campos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Guarda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alexandre Faria fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Campos having to interfere. When Joaquim Araújo fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Gumirais's protests and gave Joaquim Araújo a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to SC Gumirais getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Joaquim Araújo hit a great ball. If Diogo Guarda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jorge Matias charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jorge Matias the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Gumirais booed when Cartaxo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Matias didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diogo Guarda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Fernando Campos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Miguel Jesus came out of the goal in the 48th minute to try and stop a shot by Cartaxo FC's Duarte Viana. But to his dismay, Duarte Viana quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Duarte Viana stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Diogo Guarda struck a weak shot in the 64th minute. Fernando Campos didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Gumirais. When Joaquim Pacheco came up free with the goalie in the 67th minute, the Cartaxo FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joaquim Pacheco couldn't finish the play. With 69 minutes on the clock, Pedro Lima commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. The excitement rose when Cartaxo FC's Albertino Amaral after 72 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for SC Gumirais's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 0-2. SC Gumirais's Miguel Jesus proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save SC Gumirais from getting a goal against them. João Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 77th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fernando Campos having to interfere. Jorge Matias kicked well hit freekick during the 78th minute of the match. Alexandre Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Joaquim Pacheco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 92 minutes, Duarte Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cartaxo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Duarte Viana was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 94th minute Jorge Matias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Miguel Jesus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Jesus took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Duarte Viana, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The Cartaxo FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Cartaxo FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
