The referee ignored SC Gumirais's protests and gave Manuel Setúbal a yellow card for diving instead. After 12 played minutes SC Gumirais got a freekick which was hit by Manuel Setúbal. SC Gumirais's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Vasco Assunção 18 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Miguel Jesus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Vasco Assunção, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. David Reis fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Jesus having to interfere. David Reis's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Miguel Jesus firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 26th match minute, SC Gumirais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rui Guarda to maneuver through the defense. Afonso Lisboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Diogo Guarda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodrigo Ramos might have been able to make a better finish in the 47th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Afonso Lisboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Rodrigo Ramos ran back to his position shaking his head.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vasco Assunção to strike the kick off in the second half. David Reis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Miguel Jesus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rodrigo Ramos hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Vasco Assunção's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Miguel Jesus was relentless in the 59th minute of the game. After having played for 70 minutes, Diogo Guarda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. The tension between the SC Gumirais and the Freguezia FC players grew even worse after the yellow card.
