Silveirinho FC's Diogo Neves tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Diogo Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Raul Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 40th minute Lucas Paredes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Diogo Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. João Trindade sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Afonso Moniz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mário Assis in the 44th minute of the match. With a little luck, Sarriao FC's Afonso Moniz got control of the ball when João Trindade tried to sneak it across the goal line. After the first half Sarriao FC were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mário Assis made a kick off. João Trindade struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. In the 60th minute of the match Vítor Monteiro sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Afonso Moniz skillfully saved the ball. If Alexandre Azevedo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 69 minutes, Diamantino Marques mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sarriao FC and the Silveirinho FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Sarriao FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raul Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Mário Assis sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lucas Paredes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 85th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice moves Raul Baptista could shoot a difficult shot in the 88th minute, which Diogo Neves however easily saved by the left post. If João Trindade had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Sarriao FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sarriao FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
