An unexpectedly hard shot by Luís Viegas in the 4th minute of play forced Asseca's goalkeeper José Carneiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute, Álvaro Simões hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Raul Porto, 6 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 8th minute, Asseca's Bruno Viegas dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. SC Carvalheiros were awarded a corner in the 19th minute after Asseca's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Raul Porto took the corner. Vasco Andrade thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished José Carneiro, a very annoying self made goal in the 19th minute which led to 1-1. In the 22nd minute Miguel Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Joel Leão saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bruno Viegas got free with Joel Leão in the 23rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Miguel Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Asseca's goalkeeper José Carneiro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luís Viegas kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. SC Carvalheiros's José Ferreira got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Raul Porto placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! 46 minutes into the match, SC Carvalheiros's goalkeeper Joel Leão had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bruno Viegas. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.
The wind increased when José Ferreira made the kick off in the second half. Bruno Viegas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 52nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joel Leão having to interfere. 54 minutes into the match, SC Carvalheiros's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Amorim came free, but Joel Leão reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Miguel Amorim might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Joel Leão. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Miguel Amorim ran back to his position shaking his head. Catarino Carneiro kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. In the 64th match minute, SC Carvalheiros was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vítor Trindade to maneuver through the defense. Joel Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Miguel Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. If Luís Viegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luís Viegas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bruno Viegas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Joel Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Carvalheiros's Luís Viegas was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 91st play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. José Carneiro didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 95th minute, which inside left pole to 1-4.
