Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Gonçalo Nascimento made the kick off which started today's match. If Fernando Setúbal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Soeira's José Pereira got control of the ball when Abel Carvalho tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 17th minute, Abel Carvalho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Meles's supporters rose to their feet, but Abel Carvalho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. José Pereira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 20th minute, one of Soeira:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Soeira. In the 21st minute there was a penalty for Meles. Joel Branco stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving José Pereira. 1-0. In the 24th minute, Bento Moniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Abel Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lourenço Marques in the 32nd minute of play forced Soeira's goalkeeper José Pereira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abel Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José Pereira having to interfere. Hugo Carvalho took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Luís Soares. Meles's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Gonçalo Nascimento received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Luís Soares tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The wind increased when Lourenço Marques made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Meles's zone, Fernando Setúbal stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Luís Soares came out of the goal and Fernando Setúbal tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 56th minute Fernando Setúbal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luís Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Soeira's Fernando Setúbal got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 62nd match minute, Soeira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vítor Guarda to maneuver through the defense. If Abel Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute Abel Carvalho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José Pereira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Américo Reis during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 70th match minute, Soeira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Américo Reis to maneuver through the defense. In the 71st minute of the match Joel Branco sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but José Pereira skillfully saved the ball. In the 77th play minute Fernando Setúbal came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Luís Soares. 1-1. If Abel Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Soeira's Rui Trindade got a free kick in the 85th minute. After 88 minutes, Abel Carvalho made it 2-1 with a short kick to the right side. Soeira's José Pereira tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Gonçalo Nascimento was extremely unlucky when he, in the 96th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Meles fans cheered their team off the field, for while Soeira had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
