After 7 minutes, Amílcar Azevedo mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Arcos and the Rodeiro FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th match minute, Arcos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amílcar Azevedo to maneuver through the defense. Rodeiro FC's Rui Moreira got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. With his leg Rui Correia managed to avoid a goal in the 10thth minute, when Rodeiro FC's Rui Moreira fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. When Xavier Torres fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rodeiro FC's protests and gave Xavier Torres a yellow card for diving instead. Delfim Jesus sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Xavier Torres was shown his second yellow card after 17 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 18 played minutes Rodeiro FC got a freekick which was hit by Xavier Torres. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristóvão Nascimento in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg David Oliveira saved Rodeiro FC from getting behind. If Rui Moreira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rui Moreira succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-1 in the 34th playminute. If Delfim Jesus had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 38th minute, Emanuel Azevedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rodeiro FC's David Oliveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delfim Jesus in the 39th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cristóvão Nascimento to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 56th minute Rui Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Correia saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristóvão Nascimento in the 60th minute of play forced Rodeiro FC's goalkeeper David Oliveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 61 minutes, José Paiva mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Rodeiro FC and the Arcos players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 61 played minutes Rodeiro FC got a freekick which was hit by José Paiva. David Oliveira made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Delfim Jesus sent off a good shot on target. Rodeiro FC's David Oliveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristóvão Nascimento in the 66th minute of play. With a little luck, Rodeiro FC's David Oliveira got control of the ball when Delfim Jesus tried to sneak it across the goal line. Delfim Jesus succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-3 in the 91st playminute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Arcos eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
