Heitor Costa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alexandre Aguiar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Viegas, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. Cândido Gomes kicked well hit freekick during the 7th minute of the match. Ima's Heitor Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Heitor Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Abel Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Júlio Silva's late challenge caught a Ima's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Júlio Silva helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Ima booed when SC Guimarais was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Júlio Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Heitor Costa in the 22nd minute of play forced SC Guimarais's goalkeeper Abel Rocha to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Fernando Viegas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 29 minutes, Vicente Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Guimarais's supporters crossed their fingers, but Vicente Freitas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The audience was convinced that Vicente Freitas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alexandre Aguiar was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Vicente Freitas recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Vicente Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Guimarais's supporters rose to their feet, but Vicente Freitas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexandre Aguiar breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Vicente Freitas came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the SC Guimarais fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vicente Freitas couldn't finish the play. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Vicente Freitas to strike the kick off in the second half. If Heitor Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. SC Guimarais's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Heitor Costa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Heitor Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Abel Rocha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 81st minute Cândido Gomes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Rocha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Abel Rocha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Óscar Setúbal in the 87th minute of the match. Vicente Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Óscar Setúbal recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Ima were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of SC Guimarais for a fine match.
