Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Miguel Teixeira got the match started through his kick off. 4 minutes into the match, Fernando Moniz notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of SC Povoacao's Luís Amorim. Luís Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Miguel Teixeira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luís Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miguel Teixeira in the 7th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by António Guerreiro during the 11th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 11 played minutes SC Povoacao got a freekick which was hit by António Guerreiro. Álvaro Queirós hit a great freekick 14 minutes into the match. Manuel Marques showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Brás, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Luís Amorim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Fernando Moniz in the 24th minute. With his leg Luís Amorim managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Encourados's Fernando Moniz fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Manuel Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Brás, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Teixeira in the 30th minute of play forced SC Povoacao's goalkeeper Luís Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Miguel Teixeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the match, Afonso Barros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luís Amorim. SC Povoacao's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Afonso Barros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. After a rather tough play, SC Povoacao's Álvaro Queirós got a free kick in the 41st minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Rodrigo Valente to strike the kick off in the second half. When Miguel Teixeira came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the Encourados fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miguel Teixeira couldn't finish the play. Fernando Moniz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If João Brás had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of SC Povoacao booed when Encourados was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Pedroso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Manuel Marques took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodrigo Valente, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66thth minute of the game Rodrigo Valente who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Encourados's Manuel Marques was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 69 minutes into the match, SC Povoacao's goal looked a bit too open when Fernando Moniz came free, but Luís Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Encourados's Fernando Moniz got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Álvaro Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 76th minute. Manuel Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luís Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Moniz in the 81st minute of play. When João Brás came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the SC Povoacao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Brás couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, SC Povoacao's Eusébio Pinheiro got a free kick in the 84th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Teixeira in the 86th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Luís Amorim prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Miguel Coelho during the 87th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Miguel Coelho hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the SC Povoacao defense, Miguel Teixeira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luís Amorim. The SC Povoacao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luís Amorim should have stopped the shot.
