Carlos Resende charged in rather forcefully in the 9th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carlos Resende the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, SC Barreiras's Carlos Resende got a free kick in the 9th minute. If David Pinho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Álvaro Delgado kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. After 23 minutes of play, SC Ega's David Pinho made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. André Castro was left in no man's land by his defense there! The supporters of SC Ega booed when SC Barreiras was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Amorim didn't get a good kick on the ball. João Cunha's late challenge caught a SC Barreiras's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. SC Barreiras's André Castro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Matias in the 33rd minute of play. António Leal kicked well hit freekick during the 39th minute of the match. Eusébio Vaz hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. After recieving a nice pass, SC Ega's Adolfo Cunha tried to score from far away in the 43rd minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. With a little luck, SC Ega's Eduardo Aleixo got control of the ball when Joaquim Cunha tried to sneak it across the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and David Pinho made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Carlos Resende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joaquim Cunha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sérgio Gaspar kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. When Rafael Miranda fell near the penalty area in the 62nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Eduardo Aleixo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joaquim Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eduardo Aleixo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Carlos Resende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 83rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eduardo Aleixo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joaquim Cunha in the 86th minute of the match. João Cunha hit a great freekick 87 minutes into the match. In the 96th minute, David Pinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The SC Ega supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SC Ega would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
