Inácio Ramos kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 21st minute, João Miranda managed to get in a good position for a shot. Burgo's supporters rose to their feet, but João Miranda was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eusébio Trindade breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Alexandre Melo came up free with the goalie in the 26th minute, the Gaiata FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alexandre Melo couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Burgo's zone, António Gonçalves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bruno Jesus came out of the goal and António Gonçalves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Alexandre Melo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Gaiata FC booed when Burgo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sérgio Resende didn't get a good kick on the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell António Gonçalves to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Burgo's João Miranda got a free kick in the 55th minute. Bruno Jesus stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of António Gonçalves's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. Alexandre Melo's late challenge caught a Burgo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Alexandre Melo helped the player get up and apologised. After 63 minutes, Filipe Cabral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gaiata FC and the Burgo players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Gaiata FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Filipe Cabral hit a great ball. Alexandre Melo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 69th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Burgo's Gaspar Moutinho got a free kick in the 73rd minute. António Gonçalves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 76 minutes into the match, Burgo's goalkeeper Bruno Jesus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Alexandre Melo. João Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eusébio Trindade having to interfere. If João Miranda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
