In the 15thth minute of the game Eusébio Leite who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Lufrei's Júlio Faro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Sendas FC booed when SC Lufrei was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bruno Maia didn't get a good kick on the ball. Júlio Resende struck a weak shot in the 23rd minute. Viriato Assunção didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Lufrei. Júlio Faro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armando Araújo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Júlio Resende got free with Viriato Assunção in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Júlio Resende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Viriato Assunção came out of the goal in the 31st minute to try and stop a shot by SC Lufrei's Gil Rodrigues. But to his dismay, Gil Rodrigues quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. 35 minutes into the match, Gil Rodrigues dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Viriato Assunção, 2-0. In the 40th minute Gil Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Viriato Assunção saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. SC Lufrei's Júlio Faro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Leite in the 43rd minute of play. After 44 minutes, Cândido Tavares mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Lufrei and the Sendas FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to SC Lufrei getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Cândido Tavares hit a great ball. In the 45th minute Eusébio Leite shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Júlio Faro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.

Armando Araújo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Júlio Faro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eusébio Leite succeeded in the game's 54th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-1. Júlio Resende sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Gil Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Gil Rodrigues came up free with the goalie in the 68th minute, the SC Lufrei fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gil Rodrigues couldn't finish the play. Eusébio Vaz hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gil Rodrigues during the 73rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Armando Araújo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Júlio Faro having to interfere. In the 76th minute, Eusébio Leite hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Lufrei's Júlio Faro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 84th minute of the match, managed to save SC Lufrei from getting a goal against them. In the 88th match minute, SC Lufrei was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gil Rodrigues to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in SC Lufrei's zone, Armando Araújo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Júlio Faro came out of the goal and Armando Araújo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Júlio Resende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Júlio Faro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eusébio Leite's shot from short distance in the 95th minute. SC Lufrei's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
