When the match had gone on for 8 minutes, Viriato Anjos took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Ricardo Lima to make any attempt to save it. After 11 played minutes Praya got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Barros. After 16 played minutes Praya's Viriato Anjos stole the ball from his opponents and shot the ball towards the upper left corner, but Ricardo Lima stretched himself as far as he could, and stopped the ball from passing the line. robbing SC Telhadela of the goal. A collision led to Praya getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Pedro Castro hit a great ball. Alexandre Ribeiro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When José Monteiro fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Telhadela's protests and gave José Monteiro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 25th match minute, SC Telhadela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Monteiro to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute Mariano Castro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ricardo Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to SC Telhadela getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. José Monteiro hit a great ball. In the 31st minute of the match Fernando Assunção sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Ricardo Lima skillfully saved the ball. When José Monteiro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 33 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, SC Telhadela's José Monteiro got a free kick in the 33rd minute. In the 38th minute, Alexandre Ribeiro ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. António Neves was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. In the 42nd minute, Adolfo Moreira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

After 52 minutes of play SC Telhadela's Tiago Ramos was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 52nd match minute, SC Telhadela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tiago Ramos to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in Praya's zone, Adolfo Moreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. António Neves came out of the goal and Adolfo Moreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 67th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Telhadela's goalkeeper Ricardo Lima, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match had gone on for 69 minutes, Mariano Castro put it in 3-2 from a short distance just to the right of Ricardo Lima. After a defensive mix-up in SC Telhadela's zone, Viriato Anjos stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Lima came out of the goal and Viriato Anjos tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ricardo Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Anjos in the 74th minute of play. Viriato Anjos recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 79 minutes, Alexandre Ribeiro mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Telhadela and the Praya players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 80th match minute, SC Telhadela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Alexandre Ribeiro to maneuver through the defense. Viriato Anjos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Lima having to interfere. The supporters of Praya booed when SC Telhadela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandre Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ricardo Lima didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mariano Castro went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-2 was the resulting score. After having played for 92 minutes, Viriato Anjos managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Praya's supporters crossed their fingers, but Viriato Anjos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.
