Humberto Faro was left in no man's land by his defense there! 17 minutes into the match, SC Moreiras's goal looked a bit too open when Tiago Maia came free, but Humberto Faro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to SC Moreiras getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Xavier Pinheiro hit a great ball. If Tiago Maia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 25 minutes, Cristiano Baptista managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Toita's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristiano Baptista was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cristiano Baptista sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Humberto Faro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tiago Maia, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 33rd minute, Gustavo Matos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. SC Moreiras's Emanuel Fontes got a good chance for a goal in the 34th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 36 minutes into the game, one of Toita:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave SC Moreiras a penalty, 37 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Emanuel Fontes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Toita's Joaquim Mendes. 1-1. Humberto Faro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tiago Maia, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

After a defensive mix-up in Toita's zone, Humberto Reis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Mendes came out of the goal and Humberto Reis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SC Moreiras's Humberto Reis got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
