Noninha's José Leite played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Assunção in the 29th minute of play. José Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adelino Assunção in the 31st minute of play. Alberto Gaspar scored 1-1 in the 33rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Daniel Correia, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Alberto Gaspar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniel Correia having to interfere. Alberto Gaspar's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Daniel Correia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 42nd minute of play. Filipe Mota kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. After the first half Noninha were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The supporters of SC Loucoes booed when Noninha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gustavo Borges didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Noninha supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Noninha would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
