The audience was convinced that Hugo Moura's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Oliveira Tavares was relentless in the 12th minute of the game. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Pedro Esteves made a kick off. Regatinha's Rui Nascimento suffered a sore foot after 55 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After a rather tough play, Rubiais's Jaime Coimbra got a free kick in the 57th minute. Jacinto Ferreira might have been able to make a better finish in the 59th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jorge Teixeira. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jacinto Ferreira ran back to his position shaking his head. Hugo Moura kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Jacinto Ferreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Teixeira having to interfere. Regatinha's Oliveira Tavares proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Regatinha from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Regatinha had won after a very even match.
