The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Fojo FC's Gil Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artur Mota in the 4th minute of play. David Matias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 6th minute. Miguel Cabral tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee felt a red card was in order, 9 minutes into the game, when Hélder Matias put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 14th minute of the game. One of Fojo FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Carrazedelo:s goal. A collision led to Carrazedelo getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Amílcar Borba hit a great ball. 22 minutes into the match, Fojo FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gaspar Porto came free, but Gil Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Artur Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Artur Carvalho kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Gil Azevedo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Artur Mota in the 29th minute of play. In the 30th minute, Gaspar Porto got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Artur Mota had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 33 minutes, Augusto Oliveira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Fojo FC and the Carrazedelo players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Carrazedelo booed when Fojo FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Augusto Oliveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gaspar Porto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Artur Mota's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gil Azevedo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 35th minute of play. Carrazedelo's Miguel Cabral proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Carrazedelo from getting a goal against them. Cristiano Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Azevedo having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for David Matias to strike the kick off in the second half. After having played for 51 minutes, David Matias managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fojo FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Matias was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gaspar Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Gil Azevedo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Augusto Oliveira kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. The supporters of Fojo FC booed when Carrazedelo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaspar Porto didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, Fojo FC's Gil Azevedo got control of the ball when Gaspar Porto tried to sneak it across the goal line. David Matias struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Miguel Cabral didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Fojo FC. Fojo FC's David Matias got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The nice shot from Gaspar Porto in the 75thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Gil Azevedo had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post.
