Eduardo Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. José Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Eduardo Cruz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 24 minutes, Tomás Abreu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Massama and the SC Fonte players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, SC Massama's Tomás Abreu got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 27th match minute, SC Massama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Miguel Gonçalves to maneuver through the defense. After recieving a nice pass, SC Fonte's Cândido Moreira tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. If Cristiano Coelho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 32nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. António Almeida hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After 53 played minutes SC Massama got a freekick which was hit by Cândido Vale. José Neves had in the 77thth minute some difficulties stopping Cândido Moreira's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 77th minute, Cândido Moreira ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. José Neves was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. 81 minutes into the match, SC Massama's goal looked a bit too open when Lourenço Delgado came free, but José Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
