In a very dangerous position, a player in Souselas fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 3rd minute. Penalty! Carlos Sousa was a little too slow when Bruno Rodrigues got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 8th minute. The score was now 2-0. SC Barrantes's Alexandre Pinho got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cláudio Borba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Miguel Viegas's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Carlos Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bruno Rodrigues, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Pedro Rodrigues kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. After having played for 35 minutes, Alexandre Pinho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Barrantes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alexandre Pinho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Cláudio Borba stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eusébio Pereira's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. 41 minutes into the game, Bruno Rodrigues recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Carlos Sousa. Bruno Rodrigues showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 3-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Bruno Rodrigues managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Barrantes's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Rodrigues was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Carlos Sousa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

Bruno Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Carlos Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Barrantes's Cláudio Borba proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save SC Barrantes from getting a goal against them. Manuel Delgado kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. When Souselas's Eusébio Pereira in the 64th minute got a chance for a shot 64th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye SC Barrantes's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 66 minutes, Eusébio Pereira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. After 67 minutes, Armindo Trindade mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Souselas and the SC Barrantes players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of SC Barrantes booed when Souselas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armindo Trindade didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in SC Barrantes's zone, Miguel Viegas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Cláudio Borba came out of the goal and Miguel Viegas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Eusébio Pereira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of SC Barrantes booed when Souselas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 80 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armindo Trindade didn't get a good kick on the ball. 81 minutes into the match, SC Barrantes's Álvaro Monteiro broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Sandro Torres kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Bruno Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Carlos Sousa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jaime Nunes charged in rather forcefully in the 88th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jaime Nunes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jaime Nunes hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. SC Barrantes's Cláudio Borba played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eusébio Pereira in the 93rd minute of play. After some careless play in the SC Barrantes defense, Miguel Viegas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Cláudio Borba. The SC Barrantes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Cláudio Borba should have stopped the shot.
