Américo Santarém hit a great ball. 6 minutes into the match, Gaspar Miranda notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of SC Engenheiro's Filipe Branco. Filipe Branco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Cachopos's António Morais played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Branco in the 20th minute of play. Ricardo Viana kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, David Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Engenheiro's supporters rose to their feet, but David Branco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. António Morais breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After having played for 47 minutes, Gaspar Miranda managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Cachopos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gaspar Miranda was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for David Branco to strike the kick off in the second half. When Gaspar Miranda came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Cachopos fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gaspar Miranda couldn't finish the play. SC Engenheiro's Filipe Branco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gaspar Miranda in the 57th minute of play. After some careless play in the Cachopos defense, Nuno Mota kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of António Morais. The Cachopos fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that António Morais should have stopped the shot. Nuno Mota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nuno Mota in the 72nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck António Morais prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Gaspar Miranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Filipe Branco having to interfere. SC Engenheiro's defense didn't have a chance, in the 78th minute, when Carlos Dias scored to the left of an out of position Filipe Branco, making the score, 1-5. Carlos Dias received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 84th minute. Filipe Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SC Engenheiro's Armindo Vaz got a free kick in the 87th minute. Filipe Branco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Gaspar Miranda got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. With a little luck, SC Engenheiro's Filipe Branco got control of the ball when Gaspar Miranda tried to sneak it across the goal line. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Cachopos had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
