Alexandre Moura made a fantastic save in the 4th minute, when Mariano Anjos sent off a good shot on target. Marco Luz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Bernardo Matos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Marco Luz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mariano Anjos's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alexandre Moura read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 14th minute of play. António Santarém sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of SC Samaioes booed when SC Valcerto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Pedro Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by David Melo during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 21st match minute, SC Samaioes was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by David Melo to maneuver through the defense. After a defensive mix-up in SC Samaioes's zone, Nuno Almeida stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alexandre Moura came out of the goal and Nuno Almeida tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 26 minutes into the game, SC Valcerto's Mariano Anjos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alexandre Moura made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. When Alexandre Magalhães fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Samaioes's protests and gave Alexandre Magalhães a yellow card for diving instead. After 29 played minutes SC Samaioes got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Magalhães. SC Valcerto's Manuel Amaral couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 30th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for SC Samaioes. In the 33rd minute Nuno Almeida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexandre Moura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. António Santarém's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernardo Matos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 37th minute of play. Bernardo Matos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marco Luz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 39 minutes, Pedro Almeida mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Valcerto and the SC Samaioes players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 39 played minutes SC Valcerto got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Almeida. In the 40th minute Marco Luz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Matos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, António Santarém managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Samaioes's supporters rose to their feet, but António Santarém was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Matos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Mariano Anjos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Moura having to interfere. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Alexandre Moura showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pedro Almeida, who was totally free with the ball in the 54th minute. When António Santarém came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the SC Samaioes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that António Santarém couldn't finish the play. Mariano Anjos struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Alexandre Moura didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Valcerto. After 69 played minutes SC Samaioes got a freekick which was hit by António Santarém. After 71 played minutes SC Samaioes got a freekick which was hit by Alexandre Magalhães. António Santarém was shown his second yellow card after 81 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. In the 82nd minute, António Santarém hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 83rdth minute of the game Mariano Anjos who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SC Samaioes's Alexandre Moura was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Marco Luz managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Samaioes's supporters rose to their feet, but Marco Luz was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Matos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. SC Samaioes's Alexandre Magalhães got a good chance for a goal in the 86th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. SC Samaioes's Alexandre Moura played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Almeida in the 92nd minute of play. Mariano Anjos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexandre Moura having to interfere. SC Samaioes's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
