David Aguiar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Bento Campos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 11th minute, Eduardo Dias left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arroio FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Eduardo Dias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Esteves having to interfere. Rodrigo Esteves showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Dias in the 31st minute of the match. Bento Campos showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Diamantino Fonseca in the 37th minute of the match. Rui Domingues's late challenge caught a Rolao FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rui Domingues helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Rolao FC booed when Arroio FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rui Domingues didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 43 minutes, David Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rolao FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but David Aguiar was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Diamantino Fonseca had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 46 played minutes Arroio FC got a freekick which was hit by Vítor Mendes. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eusébio Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. Arroio FC's Bento Campos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Aguiar in the 53rd minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Rui Viana managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arroio FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Rui Viana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodrigo Esteves breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Eduardo Dias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Rolao FC's zone, Rui Viana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodrigo Esteves came out of the goal and Rui Viana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 73rd minute, one of Rolao FC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Rolao FC. When the match had been going on for 75 minutes, Arroio FC's Jorge Teixeira got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Rodrigo Esteves. David Aguiar might have been able to make a better finish in the 80th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bento Campos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. David Aguiar ran back to his position shaking his head. After a defensive mix-up in Rolao FC's zone, Rui Viana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodrigo Esteves came out of the goal and Rui Viana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. If Rui Domingues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 88th minute Eusébio Moura shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bento Campos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Bento Campos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from David Aguiar, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. Bento Campos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from David Aguiar in the 91st minute of play. Bento Campos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Rui Viana had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Arroio FC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
