The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The long shot by Afonso Monteiro in the 6th minute really tested Daniel Ferreira's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. The supporters of SC Rubiaes booed when Mei was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gil Dantas didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 10th minute, Eusébio Araújo sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Mei's Inácio Nunes didn't even have to move. Daniel Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Gaspar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Carvalho during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Mei booed when SC Rubiaes was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abel Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 26 minutes, Joaquim Amorim managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mei's supporters crossed their fingers, but Joaquim Amorim was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fábio Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Inácio Nunes having to interfere. Emanuel Porto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 32nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albertino Paredes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Joaquim Amorim was the one to do the kick off. 53 minutes into the game, Mei's Albertino Paredes nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Daniel Ferreira made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Inácio Nunes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fábio Vieira in the 56th minute of the match. Emanuel Porto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Inácio Nunes made a huge save. In the 59th minute, Pedro Gaspar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Albertino Paredes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Daniel Ferreira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Inácio Nunes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fábio Vieira in the 70th minute of play. Joaquim Amorim kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 79th minute Joaquim Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniel Ferreira saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rodrigo Veiga kicked well hit freekick during the 80th minute of the match. Abel Carvalho hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. 83 minutes into the match, Mei's Gil Dantas broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Mei's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
