Jaime Bessa's late challenge caught a SC Quadrazais's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gustavo Correia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Carlos Pires made a huge save. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind SC Quadrazais's goalkeeper Joaquim Leite, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 20 minutes, Amílcar Leal mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Quadrazais and the Fresulfe players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th match minute, SC Quadrazais was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amílcar Leal to maneuver through the defense. After 23 minutes, Rui Assunção made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Fresulfe's Carlos Pires tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The supporters of SC Quadrazais booed when Fresulfe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. António Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. 32 minutes into the match, Fresulfe's goalkeeper Carlos Pires had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustavo Correia. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albertino Faria during the 35th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Fresulfe's Albertino Faria got a free kick in the 35th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 37th minute, Rui Assunção managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gustavo Correia fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Carlos Pires having to interfere. 47 minutes into the match, Fresulfe's goalkeeper Carlos Pires had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustavo Correia. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rui Assunção made a kick off. After a rather tough play, Fresulfe's Albertino Faria got a free kick in the 55th minute. In the 56thth minute of the game Gustavo Correia who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Fresulfe's Carlos Pires was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Carlos Pires showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rui Assunção, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. After 78 played minutes António Azevedo rounded SC Quadrazais's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-2. Fresulfe's Carlos Pires played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gustavo Correia in the 82nd minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in SC Quadrazais's zone, António Azevedo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Leite came out of the goal and António Azevedo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joaquim Leite made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from António Azevedo in the 94th minute of play. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Fresulfe eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
