An unexpectedly hard shot by Fernando Azevedo in the 9th minute of play forced SC Arabia's goalkeeper Augusto Martins to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. SC Arabia's Henrique Leiria suffered a concussion in the 10th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. After 10 minutes, Bento Amaral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Picaranha FC and the SC Arabia players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Picaranha FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bento Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Gonçalo Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Arabia's Augusto Martins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gonçalo Mendes in the 18th minute of play. Joel Assis charged in rather forcefully in the 19th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joel Assis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Joel Assis hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. SC Arabia's Fernando Rodrigues got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Paulo Leiria fell near the penalty area in the 26th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Picaranha FC's protests and gave Paulo Leiria a yellow card for diving instead. After 26 played minutes Picaranha FC got a freekick which was hit by Paulo Leiria. If Fernando Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cristiano Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some careless play in the SC Arabia defense, Fernando Azevedo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Augusto Martins. The SC Arabia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Augusto Martins should have stopped the shot. Fernando Azevedo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Augusto Martins having to interfere. Picaranha FC's Simão Monteiro has a good shot, but didn't show it this time. The shot went over the crossbar in the 41st minute. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Fernando Azevedo to make the kick off. Augusto Martins made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gonçalo Mendes in the 54th minute. In the 54th match minute, SC Arabia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristiano Silva to maneuver through the defense. Fernando Azevedo struck a weak shot in the 55th minute. Augusto Martins didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Picaranha FC. Augusto Martins took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fernando Azevedo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, SC Arabia's Jorge Guarda got a free kick in the 71st minute. In the 72nd minute, Eduardo Moutinho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th minute Rafael Matos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Delfim Campos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. During the 78th minute of the match Paulo Leiria completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Paulo Leiria a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. Fernando Rodrigues recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to SC Arabia getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Joel Assis hit a great ball. Fernando Rodrigues's late challenge caught a Picaranha FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernando Rodrigues helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, SC Arabia's Fernando Rodrigues got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
