The referee showed Jaime Trindade the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Jaime Trindade hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Simão Monteiro during the 21st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Delfim Campos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

In the 56th minute, Fernando Azevedo got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as SC Peneda's Jaime Trindade slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Delfim Campos. That made the score 1-1 after 63 minutes of play. Inácio Gueifão received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 66th minute. Delfim Campos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
