Afonso Azevedo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 3rd minute. António Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Filipe Oliveira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Filipe Oliveira came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the SC Tavaredes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Filipe Oliveira couldn't finish the play. António Domingues didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Delfim Nogueira went, in the 10th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. After having played for 14 minutes, Filipe Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Tavaredes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filipe Oliveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 20 minutes into the game, Emanuel Oliveira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Espedrada's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave SC Tavaredes the free kick. Emanuel Oliveira hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 24th minute, Delfim Nogueira managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espedrada's supporters rose to their feet, but Delfim Nogueira was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. António Domingues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. António Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afonso Azevedo in the 26th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by José Fontes during the 28th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of SC Tavaredes booed when Espedrada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. José Fontes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Afonso Azevedo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 31st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carlos Brás recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of SC Tavaredes booed when Espedrada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gaspar Azevedo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 37th minute of the match SC Tavaredes got a corner. Espedrada's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joaquim Guarda ran over to the corner to take the kick. After having played for 44 minutes, Filipe Oliveira managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Tavaredes's supporters crossed their fingers, but Filipe Oliveira was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Carlos Brás sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 48 minutes into the match, Espedrada's goalkeeper Joel Brás had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Filipe Oliveira. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Afonso Azevedo to make the kick off. When Afonso Azevedo came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Espedrada fans jumped to their feet. SC Tavaredes's António Domingues proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 90th minute of the match, managed to save SC Tavaredes from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Afonso Azevedo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Espedrada's supporters rose to their feet, but Afonso Azevedo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. António Domingues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
