Alberto Pinto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Gil Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto Pinto might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gil Baptista. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alberto Pinto ran back to his position shaking his head. If Armando Santarém had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Amílcar Paiva succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-0 in the 47th playminute.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when João Marques stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Manuel Borba made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Santarém in the 57th minute of play. Gil Baptista made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Alberto Pinto sent off a good shot on target. João Marques fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gil Baptista having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in SC Vila's zone, Amílcar Paiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel Borba came out of the goal and Amílcar Paiva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Gil Baptista made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Pinto in the 78th minute. João Marques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Gil Baptista tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Manuel Borba didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Amílcar Paiva went, in the 88th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-0 was the resulting score. Armando Santarém fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel Borba having to interfere.
