Ricardo Pinho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Lagarica. If Oliveira Bessa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Oliveira Bessa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Abel Faro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ricardo Pinho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Oliveira Tavares in the 25th minute. After having played for 28 minutes, Miguel Trindade managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Lagarica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Trindade was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Oliveira Tavares blasted a shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ricardo Pinho having to make a save. Oliveira Tavares took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Pinho. Ricardo Pinho dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Oliveira Bessa made a kick off. Abel Faro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliveira Bessa, who was totally free with the ball in the 51st minute. With an all-out effort, Cainheiras's Abel Faro threw himself towards the right post 54 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Oliveira Bessa, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Oliveira Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 57th minute, Oliveira Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Lagarica's supporters rose to their feet, but Oliveira Tavares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ricardo Pinho breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Abel Faro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorge Rodrigues in the 59th minute. A collision led to SC Lagarica getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Júlio Teixeira hit a great ball. Jorge Rodriguess short, quick shot in the 62ndth minute got Abel Faro to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Oliveira Tavares in the 63rd minute of play forced Cainheiras's goalkeeper Ricardo Pinho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abel Faro was out of position in the 68 minute of play, and Oliveira Bessa capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Oliveira Bessa really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. In the 71st minute, Gustavo Morais hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Cainheiras's Hugo Moreira got a free kick in the 74th minute. 80 minutes into the game, Miguel Trindade cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Ricardo Pinho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Eusébio Araújo's late challenge caught a SC Lagarica's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eusébio Araújo helped the player get up and apologised. After 83 played minutes Cainheiras got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Araújo. When Miguel Trindade came up free with the goalie in the 87th minute, the SC Lagarica fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Miguel Trindade couldn't finish the play. Oliveira Tavares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 91 minutes into the match, SC Lagarica's Miguel Trindade sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ricardo Pinho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When Júlio Teixeira fell near the penalty area in the 95th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored SC Lagarica's protests and gave Júlio Teixeira a yellow card for diving instead.
