With a little luck, SC Gois's Paulo Sousa got control of the ball when Gil Santarém tried to sneak it across the goal line. Heitor Santarém received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 10th minute. Marco Setúbal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eduardo Bessa in the 13th minute of play forced SC Gois's goalkeeper Paulo Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 14th match minute, SC Gois was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedro Abreu to maneuver through the defense. When Eduardo Bessa came up free with the goalie in the 20th minute, the SC Arribao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Bessa couldn't finish the play. Armindo Delgado scored 0-2 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Marco Setúbal, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 30 played minutes, SC Gois's Luís Oliveira shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marco Setúbal came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SC Gois reached it. Gil Santarém recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulo Sousa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eduardo Bessa in the 47th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Eduardo Bessa made a kick off. Marco Setúbal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Armindo Delgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 59 minutes into the match, SC Gois's goal looked a bit too open when Eduardo Bessa came free, but Paulo Sousa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 59 played minutes SC Gois got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Abreu. A collision led to SC Gois getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Manuel Paredes hit a great ball. In the 70th minute Eduardo Bessa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, SC Gois's Manuel Paredes got a free kick in the 70th minute. In the 73rd minute, Armindo Delgado fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Marco Setúbal, passed just outside the right post. SC Arribao's Marco Setúbal proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save SC Arribao from getting a goal against them. Paulo Sousa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Eduardo Bessa's shot from short distance in the 83rd minute. Heitor Santarém sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 89th match minute, SC Arribao was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by João Assis to maneuver through the defense. If Heitor Santarém had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, SC Gois's Luís Oliveira got a free kick in the 93rd minute. Américo Pinto took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 94th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Paulo Sousa. SC Gois's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Gois walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
