Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Murtinheira's Emílio Morais started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Paulo Ferreira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Rasa's Henrique Valente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Emílio Morais in the 20th minute of play. After having played for 23 minutes, Xavier Abreu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Murtinheira's supporters crossed their fingers, but Xavier Abreu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Daniel Mendes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rodrigo Reis having to interfere. 29 minutes into the game, Cândido Alves was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Rasa's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Murtinheira the free kick. After 29 played minutes Rasa got a freekick which was hit by Cândido Alves. Daniel Mendes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 44th minute, Xavier Abreu ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Henrique Valente was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a defensive mix-up in Murtinheira's zone, Paulo Ferreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodrigo Reis came out of the goal and Paulo Ferreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Ferreira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Rasa's Henrique Valente played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Xavier Abreu in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute Emílio Morais shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrique Valente saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 56th minute Paulo Ferreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodrigo Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Barros's late challenge caught a Rasa's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Marco Barros helped the player get up and apologised. Paulo Ferreira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 58th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Rodrigo Reis stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Paulo Ferreira's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Paulo Ferreira might have been able to make a better finish in the 66th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rodrigo Reis. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Paulo Ferreira ran back to his position shaking his head. Emílio Morais's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Henrique Valente read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 68th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, Xavier Abreu had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henrique Valente. Rasa's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Xavier Abreu was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-1. After some careless play in the Rasa defense, Xavier Abreu kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Henrique Valente. The Rasa fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Henrique Valente should have stopped the shot. If Emílio Morais had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Daniel Mendes struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Rodrigo Reis didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Rasa. Murtinheira's Rodrigo Reis proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save Murtinheira from getting a goal against them. Xavier Abreu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Henrique Valente tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Murtinheira were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Rasa for a fine match.
