Tiago Araújo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Guerreiro in the 41st minute of play. SC Fonseca's Lúcio Vaz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save SC Fonseca from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 49th minute, André Guerreiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Fonseca's supporters rose to their feet, but André Guerreiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tiago Araújo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

SC Fonseca's Lúcio Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vicente Costa in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute Afonso Santos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lúcio Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 61 minutes into the match, SC Fonseca's goal looked a bit too open when Vicente Costa came free, but Lúcio Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tiago Araújo stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Guerreiro's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Carlos Leão's late challenge caught a SC Fonseca's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. The goalkeeper, Tiago Araújo, was totally fooled by SC Fonseca's Rui Ribeiro, who 76 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. Vicente Costa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
