In the 5th minute, Bruno Valente ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jorge Domingues was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. In the 20th match minute, Fanheiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Lopes to maneuver through the defense. André Mota sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Fanheiro FC booed when Recreio FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Inácio Brito didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rogério Marques received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Jorge Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 29th minute the ball was on its way in behind Recreio FC's goalkeeper Jorge Domingues, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Luís Fontes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando Carvalho, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. The supporters of Recreio FC booed when Fanheiro FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Diamantino Pinheiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Rogério Marques sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. André Mota fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luís Fontes having to interfere. In the 45th minute, Fernando Carvalho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 48th minute, Bruno Valente managed to get in a good position for a shot. Fanheiro FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Bruno Valente was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jorge Domingues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Bruno Valente made a kick off. The tension between the Fanheiro FC and the Recreio FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 94 minutes of play Fanheiro FC's Oliveira Neto was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. Oliveira Neto kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match. Miguel Cruz was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 96th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Fanheiro FC's Luís Fontes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Mota in the 98th minute of play. Recreio FC were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
