After having played for 84 minutes, Marco Tavares managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Esporao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Marco Tavares was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. José Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Alfredo Guerreiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 89 played minutes SC Esporao got a freekick which was hit by Américo Baptista. José Baptista struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Alfredo Guerreiro didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Gilbarbedo. Gilbarbedo's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
