Óscar Pires fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Óscar Anjos having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Moreira in the 18th minute of play forced Varatojo's goalkeeper Óscar Anjos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 22 minutes into the match, Pedro Moreira notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Varatojo's Óscar Anjos. Óscar Anjos was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pedro Moreira was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 89th minute. SC Baleal's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. A hard shot by Oliveira Carneiro from long distance, 93 minutes into the match, got Óscar Anjos's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Amílcar Oliveira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Óscar Anjos read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 97th minute of play. The Varatojo supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching SC Baleal's performance. The match ended with a win for SC Baleal.
