After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

SC Deveza's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palhais FC the free kick. SC Deveza's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ricardo Mendes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Alexandre Paiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Afonso Cruz having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ricardo Mendes got free with Cláudio Sousa in the 92nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Palhais FC's Afonso Cruz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nuno Gonçalves in the 96th minute of play. The Palhais FC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Palhais FC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
