Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) After 2 played minutes SC Balanca got a freekick which was hit by Pedro Pinheiro. The audience was convinced that Adelino Fonseca's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gustavo Delgado was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Tomás Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Nascimento in the 9th minute of play. After having played for 12 minutes, Carlos Cardoso managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Meieiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Carlos Cardoso was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Meieiras's Adelino Fonseca got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carlos Cardoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Gustavo Delgado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. SC Balanca's Gustavo Delgado played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adelino Fonseca in the 20th minute of play. Rui Rocha hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 29th minute, Oliveira Pacheco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Júlio Nascimento kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 33rd minute, Meieiras's Vasco Maia seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Vasco Maia the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Meieiras protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Vasco Maia had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 32nd minute, one of Meieiras:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Meieiras. The referee gave SC Balanca a penalty, 35 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nuno Ferreira, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Meieiras's Tomás Teixeira. 1-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Carlos Cardoso in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gustavo Delgado saved SC Balanca from getting behind. 47 minutes into the match, Meieiras's Carlos Cardoso sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gustavo Delgado narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Carlos Cardoso was the one to do the kick off. After a rather tough play, SC Balanca's Rui Rocha got a free kick in the 54th minute. SC Balanca were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Meieiras's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Nuno Ferreira took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Nuno Brás heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Rui Rocha managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Balanca's supporters rose to their feet, but Rui Rocha was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tomás Teixeira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Meieiras's Carlos Cardoso got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Rogério Campos fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gustavo Delgado having to interfere. Nuno Ferreira hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. After 67 minutes SC Balanca's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Lúcio Santarém who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Meieiras's Lúcio Santarém to fire away a dangerous shot which Gustavo Delgado despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Tomás Teixeira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Júlio Nascimento in the 71st minute of play. Carlos Cardoso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gustavo Delgado read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play.
