In the 24th minute Alexandre Veiga shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rui Vidigal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rui Vidigal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Resende, who was totally free with the ball in the 25th minute. After 28 minutes, Silvestre Correia mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC Porto and the Baltaria FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. FC Porto's Evandro Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emanuel Resende fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rui Vidigal having to interfere. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tarcísio Dantas during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to FC Porto getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Tarcísio Dantas hit a great ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alexandre Veiga made a kick off. Eurico Aires hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. The supporters of FC Porto booed when Baltaria FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emanuel Resende didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 55th minute the ball was on its way in behind Baltaria FC's goalkeeper Diamantino Torres, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rui Vidigal made a fantastic save in the 57th minute, when Emanuel Resende sent off a good shot on target. 58 minutes into the match, Baltaria FC's goal looked a bit too open when Abel Cardoso came free, but Diamantino Torres reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Emanuel Resende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eurico Aires kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. If Emanuel Resende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Baltaria FC's António Neto couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 81st minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC Porto. Alexandre Veiga recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alexandre Veiga did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 0-1 to the left of a surprised Rui Vidigal 85 minutes into the match. José Moniz charged in rather forcefully in the 90th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Moniz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 90th minute, José Moniz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Evandro Nogueira recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. FC Porto's Evandro Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
