Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) SC Fernandaires's Lúcio Queirós started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Joel Leal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 4th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Diamantino Leite having to interfere. A collision led to SC Fernandaires getting a freekick after 6 minutes play. Carlos Cunha hit a great ball. SC Fernandaires's Lúcio Queirós got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Diamantino Leite showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lúcio Queirós, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. If Jacinto Vaz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lúcio Queirós received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Diamantino Leite tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joel Leal might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Diamantino Leite. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Joel Leal ran back to his position shaking his head. 36 minutes into the match, SC Castela's goal looked a bit too open when Lúcio Queirós came free, but Diamantino Leite reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Domingos Pires took the ball and in the 40 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gaspar Vale. Gaspar Vale dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. After 47 played minutes SC Castela got a freekick which was hit by Rogério Gonçalves. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Domingos Pires stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When Lúcio Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 53rd minute, the SC Fernandaires fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lúcio Queirós couldn't finish the play. Jacinto Vaz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Gaspar Vale tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th minute, José Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 58 minutes, Domingos Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SC Castela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Domingos Pires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of SC Castela booed when SC Fernandaires was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 60 match minutes in a wonderful position. Catarino Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th minute, Joel Leal left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The SC Fernandaires fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Gaspar Vale showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernardo Cabral, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. When Lúcio Queirós came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the SC Fernandaires fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lúcio Queirós couldn't finish the play. After some fancy dribbling in the 82nd minute, Domingos Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Castela's supporters rose to their feet, but Domingos Pires was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gaspar Vale breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 84th minute of the game. One of SC Fernandaires:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of SC Castela:s goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Domingos Pires in the 90th minute of play forced SC Fernandaires's goalkeeper Gaspar Vale to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 92nd minute, Joel Leal got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Diamantino Leite showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lúcio Queirós in the 94th minute of the match. In the 94th match minute, SC Castela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonçalo Oliveira to maneuver through the defense. SC Fernandaires's Gaspar Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bernardo Cabral in the 97th minute of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. SC Castela walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
