The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 53rd match minute, SC Vessada was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Leite to maneuver through the defense. SC Vessada's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lucas Matos was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Artur Alves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernandinho Paivas short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Alfredo Valente to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Fernandinho Paiva managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Avintes's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernandinho Paiva was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alfredo Valente breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Raul Brás had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fernandinho Paiva could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 95th minute of the match, but Alfredo Valente made a huge save. The supporters of FC Avintes booed when SC Vessada was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artur Alves didn't get a good kick on the ball. The SC Vessada support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
