An unexpectedly hard shot by Aloísio Malta in the 10th minute of play forced Crujeira's goalkeeper Hélder Freitas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 12 minutes into the match, Aroeira's goalkeeper Alcides Jesus had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by João Correia. After a rather tough play, Aroeira's Aloísio Malta got a free kick in the 14th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, André Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Crujeira's supporters rose to their feet, but André Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alcides Jesus breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Crujeira booed when Aroeira was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Armando Santarém didn't get a good kick on the ball. If André Aguiar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aroeira's Aloísio Malta got a good chance for a goal in the 26th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alcides Jesus was out of position in the 28 minute of play, and André Aguiar capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. André Aguiar really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. André Aguiar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 34th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 46 minutes into the game, Aloísio Malta cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Hélder Freitas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

João Correia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Alcides Jesus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Armando Santarém kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. André Aguiar fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alcides Jesus having to interfere. Alcides Jesus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from João Correia in the 60th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Crujeira's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Fernando Lustosa fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. A collision led to Crujeira getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Eusébio Dias hit a great ball. João Correia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Crujeira's André Aguiar in the 76th minute got a chance for a shot 76th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. André Aguiar might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alcides Jesus. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. André Aguiar ran back to his position shaking his head. Aroeira's Alcides Jesus played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Aguiar in the 88th minute of play. Hélder Freitas made a fantastic save in the 92nd minute, when Bernardo Aires sent off a good shot on target. Hélder Freitas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fernando Lustosa in the 96th minute of play.
