The supporters of Argamassa FC booed when SC Lagoaca was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Máximo Portela didn't get a good kick on the ball. Catarino Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. SC Lagoaca's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isidro Pinhal was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. If Catarino Freitas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Catarino Freitas to make the kick off. Catarino Freitas scored 2-0 in the 57th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ivan Leite, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Ivan Leite took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Catarino Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Catarino Freitas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ivan Leite read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play.
