Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nuno Moutinho started the match with the kick off. Nuno Moutinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Lacos FC's Vasco Vale got a free kick in the 10th minute. 15 minutes into the game, Óscar Silva cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Albertino Figueiredo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 19th minute Óscar Silva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albertino Figueiredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Manuel Moura's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sérgio Magalhães read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albertino Figueiredo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Óscar Silva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Albertino Figueiredo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nuno Moutinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Óscar Silva might have been able to make a better finish in the 41st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Albertino Figueiredo. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Óscar Silva ran back to his position shaking his head. Delfim Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 42nd minute of the match. Óscar Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 49th minute. Albertino Figueiredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Manuel Moura to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Covela booed when Lacos FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Óscar Silva didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th match minute, Lacos FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vasco Vale to maneuver through the defense. Sérgio Magalhães made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Manuel Moura in the 59th minute of play. With splendid footwork Nuno Moutinho arrived in front of goal to shoot 0-2 by the left pole in the game's 62nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Covela's zone, Óscar Silva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albertino Figueiredo came out of the goal and Óscar Silva tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Óscar Silva sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
