The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the match, Xavier Alcântara notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of SC Mansores's Sílvio Caneira. Sílvio Caneira was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 9th minute, Xavier Alcântara managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC Meios's supporters rose to their feet, but Xavier Alcântara was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sílvio Caneira breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Cesário Eanes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cesário Eanes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Geraldo Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sílvio Caneira was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but David Moreira showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 21 minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, SC Meios's goal looked a bit too open when Cesário Eanes came free, but Geraldo Oliveira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 38th minute, Jacob Dantas got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience was convinced that Jacob Dantas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Geraldo Oliveira was relentless in the 42nd minute of the game. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

After a rather tough play, SC Meios's Durval Ávila got a free kick in the 87th minute.
