An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiago Machado in the 25th minute of play forced Faioes FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vasco Ferro recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 26th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Pedro Faria made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Albertino Moreira in the 29th minute of play. Pedro Faria didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Albertino Moreira went, in the 31st minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. 39 minutes into the match, Albertino Moreira had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Pedro Faria. SC TAP's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Albertino Moreira was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. If Pedro Cavaco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Tiago Machado managed to get in a good position for a shot. SC TAP's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiago Machado was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquim Azevedo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 48th minute, Adolfo Pedroso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tiago Machado was the one to do the kick off. Albertino Moreira's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Pedro Faria read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 60th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Faioes FC's zone, Tiago Machado stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Azevedo came out of the goal and Tiago Machado tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 75th match minute, Faioes FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Pedroso to maneuver through the defense. Cristiano Sanches charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Cristiano Sanches the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Faioes FC booed when SC TAP was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristiano Sanches didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Vasco Ferro came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Faioes FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Vasco Ferro couldn't finish the play.
