Nicolau Moutinho kicked well hit freekick during the 4th minute of the match. Patrício Monsanto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Albertino Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ivan Valverde kicked well hit freekick during the 21st minute of the match. Joaquim Azevedo made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Carlos Camargo sent off a good shot on target. 30 minutes into the match, Faioes FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Azevedo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Carlos Camargo. Carlos Camargo in the 31stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Joaquim Azevedo, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Faioes FC's Joaquim Azevedo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Danilo Damásio in the 33rd minute of play. If Danilo Damásio had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Vasco Ferro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Patrício Monsanto was relentless in the 37th minute of the game. Vasco Ferro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. Patrício Monsanto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Vidaes getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Nicolau Moutinho hit a great ball. Albertino Moreira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Patrício Monsanto having to interfere. 43 minutes into the match, Faioes FC's goal looked a bit too open when Danilo Damásio came free, but Joaquim Azevedo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Joaquim Azevedo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Damásio, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Danilo Damásio in the 54th minute of play forced Faioes FC's goalkeeper Joaquim Azevedo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Carlos Camargo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Camargo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquim Azevedo having to interfere. In the 65th minute, Adolfo Pedroso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Patrício Monsanto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vasco Ferro in the 74th minute. After 76 played minutes Vidaes got a freekick which was hit by Nicolau Moutinho. Patrício Monsanto didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 80th minute, which inside left pole to 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Faioes FC's zone, Danilo Damásio stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquim Azevedo came out of the goal and Danilo Damásio tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Joaquim Azevedo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carlos Camargo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Faioes FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
