Jordão Galvão took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Domingos Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute Horácio Portugal shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Faria saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 32 played minutes SC Rochel got a freekick which was hit by Joaquim Borba. An unexpectedly hard shot by Porfírio Medeiros in the 33rd minute of play forced SC Rochel's goalkeeper Paulo Faria to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind Carvalho's goalkeeper Jordão Galvão, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 38th minute, Lourenço Coimbra got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lourenço Coimbra could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Jordão Galvão made a huge save. Carvalho's Jordão Galvão proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Carvalho from getting a goal against them. If Lourenço Coimbra had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

A collision led to Carvalho getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Sílvio lago hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, Carvalho's Severiano Viana got a free kick in the 63rd minute. After 64 minutes of play, SC Rochel's Domingos Silva made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jordão Galvão was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Carvalho's Belchior Madureira got a free kick in the 68th minute. Jordão Galvão showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lourenço Coimbra in the 72nd minute of the match. 74 minutes into the game, Joaquim Mendes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SC Rochel's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Carvalho the free kick. The supporters of Carvalho booed when SC Rochel was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Mendes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice moves Porfírio Medeiros could shoot a difficult shot in the 76th minute, which Paulo Faria however easily saved by the left post. After 85 played minutes SC Rochel got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Azevedo. Olívio Azeredo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Faria read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. After having played for 91 minutes, Porfírio Medeiros managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Carvalho's supporters crossed their fingers, but Porfírio Medeiros was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. SC Rochel's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
