Carlao's Ivo Ferro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Carlao from getting a goal against them. 12 minutes into the game, Carlos Amaro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carlao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Guilhabreu FC the free kick. After 12 played minutes Carlao got a freekick which was hit by Carlos Amaro. Fernando Soares received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Ivo Ferro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ivo Ferro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernando Soares's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. Jorge Amorim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Ferro having to interfere. After some careless play in the Carlao defense, Jorge Amorim kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ivo Ferro. The Carlao fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ivo Ferro should have stopped the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 22nd minute, Fernando Soares managed to get in a good position for a shot. Guilhabreu FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fernando Soares was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ivo Ferro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ivo Ferro stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Fernando Soares's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Fernando Soares sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ivo Ferro didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 36th minute, which inside left pole to 3-0. Tiago Correia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Augusto Caldeira in the 41st minute of play. Augusto Caldeira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Augusto Caldeira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Carlao booed when Guilhabreu FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joaquim Esteves didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando Soares recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After 78 minutes, Sandro Gomes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Guilhabreu FC and the Carlao players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Guilhabreu FC's Sandro Gomes got a free kick in the 78th minute. Ivo Ferro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jorge Amorim, who was totally free with the ball in the 97th minute. Guilhabreu FC's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
