Spectators: 32 (Terracing: 25, Seating: 7, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Júlio Rego kicked off to start the match. In the 2nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalkeeper Evandro Taborda, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 3 minutes, Joel Simões mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SC Fermedo and the Sport Lisboa e Benfica players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rogério Bessa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evandro Taborda having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rogério Bessa in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Evandro Taborda saved Sport Lisboa e Benfica from getting behind. Jacinto Melo made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Laurentino Novais sent off a good shot on target. Eusébio Serpa charged in rather forcefully in the 29th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eusébio Serpa the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of SC Fermedo booed when Sport Lisboa e Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eusébio Serpa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vicente Silva struck a weak shot in the 32nd minute. Evandro Taborda didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Fermedo. Cristiano Aguiar took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 35th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Evandro Taborda. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Evandro Taborda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Silva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Evandro Taborda came out of the goal in the 41st minute to try and stop a shot by SC Fermedo's Vicente Silva. But to his dismay, Vicente Silva quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. Vicente Silva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Evandro Taborda having to interfere. After the first half SC Fermedo were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The wind increased when Rogério Bessa made the kick off in the second half. Vicente Silva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Evandro Taborda tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 57 minutes into the match, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's goalkeeper Evandro Taborda had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Vicente Silva. Rogério Bessa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 64 minutes, Laurentino Novais managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sport Lisboa e Benfica's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laurentino Novais was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of SC Fermedo booed when Sport Lisboa e Benfica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 81 match minutes in a wonderful position. Heitor Caneira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 82 played minutes Rogério Bessa rounded Sport Lisboa e Benfica's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 0-2. Evandro Taborda made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rogério Bessa in the 88th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Heitor Caneira got a free kick in the 97th minute. SC Fermedo's Francisco Domingues couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 98th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Sport Lisboa e Benfica.
